Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance is the second soundtrack for the Disney Channel Original Series Shake It Up. It was released on March 20, 2012. The lead single, "Up, Up, and Away," performed by Blush, was released on February 14, 2012. Every song was available for listening during the Radio Disney Planet Premiere held three days prior to the soundtrack's release and on RadioDisney.com, excluding The Deluxe Edition bonus tracks, and the Target exclusive tracks (with the exception of "The Star I R," which was played On-Air that day) ^[1] It sold 210,000 copies in the US in 2012, and was the best-selling TV soundtrack of the year.^[2]

Singles [edit]

The first single was "Up, Up, and Away" by Blush which was released on February 14, 2012. The music video was made into a lyric-music video (a music video with lyrics) and had clips from a Shake It Up episode with Blush singing the music. The second single was "Something To Dance For" by Zendaya and the video included the mash-up version from the soundtrack with Bella Thorne's "TTYLXOX" which was the third single. The two songs were released on March 6, 2012. Both "Something to Dance For" and "TTYLXOX" were also included on two different episodes of "Shake It Up."

• "Fashion Is My Kryptonite" was released on July 20, 2012 on the deluxe edition.

Heather Phares of Allmusic gave a review: The soundtrack to the Disney Channel's show Shake It Up, about two girls who finally get a chance to live their dreams of being professional dancers, is as foot-tapping as its subtitle, Live 2 Dance, suggests. The dance-pop set features Bella Thorne's text-speak hit "TTYLXOX," Blush's driving "Up Up and Away," and Amber Lily's Ke$ha-esque "Turn It On," along with tracks by Zendaya, Coco Jones, Adam Hicks and Adam Trent.^[3]

Shake It Up: Made In Japan is an spinoff extended play of the soundtrack Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance for the Disney Channel Original Series Shake It Up. It was released on August 21, 2012 are performed by recording artists Bella Thorne and Zendaya. All songs were included in Wallmart version of Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance.

The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld. The music video for this song, which features Cat Deeley, was shot on June 28, 2012 and was released August 3, 2012 on Disney Channel during Toy Story 3 and hours later on the official Disney Music VEVO account on YouTube.
